Ironic moustaches have become more prevalent recently because of "Movember", but they can also be seen all year round typically worn by East London 'creatives'.

What makes them ironic is the wry, knowing awareness of the moustache wearer of the fact that moustaches have long since been considered "cool".

Unfortunately these people seem unaware that their guiding principle of trying really, really hard to be "cool" by dint of irony is doomed to failure, since everyone knows that nothing is less “cool” than trying really, really hard.
