surely that meant he needed one in the summer as we are in exactly the same position now as we were in the summer? Does this mean Walcott is being sold? I assume that is the case, as soon as Wenger said he wouldn't be sold as we know that always means the opposite.

Difficult one for Wenger. Can't see how he can keep both of them happy.
No real pace upfront when Theo's on the bench and Giroud's gaining in confidence.

And knew this in June/July so, yes, we probably did need another striker in August. By waiting until we have qualified from the group stages of the CL, we now have a few extra million to call on to sign one.
