Quite a gamble, though a logical one. Guardiola's had one managerial job in his hometown. Who's to say he can reproduce that elsewhere in a different league and culture? Will be very amusing if he can't with Abramovich having chased him all this time.

Someone with a bit of integrity to stand up and tell the c**t that he'd only go to a club that ran things properly and to shove his roubles up hs arse.

is possibly one of the most fortunate managers in history when one considers that he had all of Messi, Xavi and Iniesta in the same team before he was appointed.

Freed up Xavi and Iniesta by bringing Busquets in to sit deep, as well as coaching them how to press and win the ball back so effectively. Yes, the academy provided the players, but it was Guardiola that built the team around them as well as trusting academy players like Busquets, Pedro etc.

but I won't be shaken in my view that he was fortunate to have such talent at his disposal when he was appointed manager.
