The only reason I have it is that I dont need a BT line (they are utter c**ts) and I pay Sky the absolute minimum rate

everywhere important and gigabit ethernet internally.
Externally I am fine with Sky's 40 Meg FTTC product since that is cheaper than others on bundle and I actually seem to get 40 Meg.

It replaces the home hub and/or the modem. BT may want you to retain the modem so this becomes a router with good wifi range..
Get home plugs for your Sky box, DVD player etc as they do not eat up the wifi signal and the home plug hooks into your electric network.
