The signing on fee however will be massive should Liverpool or someone else come in for him. We might be able to offer him 90-100k a week, but we won't be giving him 6 million to sweeten the deal.

and what the likes of Liverpool will be offering, is the size of the signing on fee more than anything else. As there is no transfer fee to pay out, who is to stop the likes of Pool offering 6-7 million to sweeten the potential deal?
