let's face it he can go for free & earn at least double what is on the table if he stays.
Hopefully now this has happened for the 100th time the club might start talks a teeny weeny bit earlier in future.

lucrative new contracts every year and bankrupt the club.

People complain about overpaid 'deadwood' and then in the same breath complain about Walcott being underpaid despite the fact that they had him filed under 'deadwood' five minutes earlier.

If, OTOH Sagna has not been offered a contract at all then something else is going on and in his case it seems the club wants to sell him.

Football wise I mean.

Money wise he's hardly goign to be poor no matter what. Football wise there are 3 sides in the League that are better than us, not sure if any of those except perhaps United will take a gamble on him.

So footballistically he may decide that earning 80k a week is acceptable because otherwise he will have to join a side of even bigger ********s.

Van Persie will want him.

And he's free.

Spurs with Modric, Liverpool Torres, even if not in the last year of their contract...

So still no centre-forward option there, just more money and guaranteed to win things.

RvP likes Walcott and Walcott likes Sagna. I can see where this is going. http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/indifferent.gif

then having contract talks two years before one runs out would seem prudent. If they don't want to sign then yes we should sell at that point. That would be my policy but then again I am just a layman.

Clearlyhe gave the club certain assurances in the summer as to his willingness to sign a new deal, otherwise he would have been sold. If he is refusing to talk now he is a bit of a c**t.

As for opening discussions earlier, does anyone really, honestly believe that the club dont try? These things are not discussed in theshowers or over a pint. Players discuss nothing without their agents and i would imagine contract negotiations require some sort of formal meeting. All a player has to do is constantly delay it.

If these problames have arisen because the club, for instance, made no attempt whatsoever to talk to nasir, rvp et al abut a new deal then every single one pf them needs sacking, immediately.

In both cases the players refused to sign.
