Can you see us paying 30m+ plus for him before you factor in wages? Surely he would smash our wage structure?

Not happening.

The way the club is run at the moment is all geared on top 4 finishes, anything that threatens that is a game changer.

The season Graham was sacked we finished 12th, a few months later we signed Bergkamp. The board are very slow to react to problems but when the wheels are coming off they tend to do something, if only for financial reasons.

so never retained a title in recent history. The only time we really spend big is when we have to. I think this situation may well qualify on that score too.

negotiated next year for 2014/2015 season. Another reason why the money men may get their calculators out and say 'buy big'. Just a pity it wasn't for football reasons and done to get success rather than profit.

Yet stories constantly come out about failed approaches for various players. I agree that he can be a bit tight when it comes to getting the best value he possibly can but I do believe that he has tried to get numerous quality players in throughout the past few years.

Coming from someone who posts contradictory unintelligible nonsense on here - this really is hilarious.
I suggest that you go and look up what 'advice' means and 'conspiracy theory', before you make anymore unenforced errors.

Shame then that he's not managed to keep them. No wonder Mancini and Ferguson love him.

He was never afraid to spend money at Highbury. Not right at the top end of the market, but still quite significant amounts on the right players.
