Yesterday's landslide was a welcome, if not unexpected, conclusion to the 2012 race.

There is so much to be done to improve the quality of live for ALL the people of this great nation, and the nation itself. We cannot afford more years of stalemate in Congress. Both sides, the winners and losers, need to come together and find ways to move forward. It's a time for politicians to act like men, to accept that nobody will get everything they want, but that unless compromise is made the nation itself will suffer.

The Republican GOP also has to decide if it wants to be relevant in the future. The base of old white folks diminishes by approx 3 or 4% each Presidential Election. Demographics change, and unless the GOP changes to acknowledge that, and appeal to younger/minority/female voters, then they will walk right into the Political Ice Age. The cannibalization of the GOP by the Tea Party has been very costly for them, it will interesting to see if there is an official split forthcoming.

I'll get my popcorn ready!

It shouldn't matter if you are rich, poor, white, brown, black, yellow, gay, straight, religious, non religious, able, disabled.

America has spoken, now it's time to get busy and work hard.

We must move forward together as a nation, there's work to be done, and that is why I'm determined, hopeful and focused today, rather than complacent, gloating and churlish.

I was a tepid Obama supporter this time. His civil liberties alone are unacceptable, but also he's willing to throw away hard won legacies for short term concessions from a defeated ideology.

Also, with Latino growth, Texas will go purple soon. How many electoral votes is that?

I predict that the GOP makes big moves for Jews and Latinos, trying to divide them from blacks.

Note, four years ago I predicted after Obama's win that Repubs would repudiate Bush and have to rebrand themselves - and 6 months later we got the Tea Party who acted as if they had no responsibility for the debt Bush put on the credit card.

In other words, mark my words. http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/nod.gif
