If you are thinking of somewhere quieter then try Parsons Green. Lived there for a few months and it's on the District Line. It also has the best pub I've been to in London - The White Horse on Parsons Green. It is real Chelsea territory, though.

I play football in Barnes and have had a good few nights out in Putney. It's a long old tube ride on the District line to the City though.

great lifestyle, 2 hours 50 to Paddington not that you will want to go. Good weather great views, good beer, proper pubs fab food, traffic jam equals two pheasants and a squirrel in the lane ahead of you, there is nothing that doesnt recommend it
