unproven in the Premier League. Either because they have come from foreign leagues, or from the youth team. It takes them months/years to get to the required level and by that time, we sell them. Every year.

The exception is Arteta, who was immediately useful

Contrast this with man Utd who mainly shop for players from other Premier league clubs, where the risk is much much lower. Rio, Rooney, Young, Valencia, RvP

Even a full international who is clearly good, and by definition world class, needs time to get used to the speed, physicality etc
