or when he sees the chances we will miss, or the great goals rvp will score tomorrow...

If he was still in our team we arguably wouldve had a better overall team than them. Thats how good he is.

Its ok though, we made a profit, and the ostriches are happy. Oh and we will show good spirit and give 100% until the last second... http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/rubchin.gif

I hope you have no decision making responsibilities at work

If you got a compulsory purchase order through the post, saying the council were going to give you 500k for your house, or you could live happily in it for a year and get nothing for it when they demolish it to build a motorway, what would you do?

a better offer was made. I think he was happy in London.

The 2 go hand in hand generally.

and then commanded a massive signing on fee as well as a whopping salary, and on the basis that he would probably have been able to negotiate a higher salary at Man City, it is my considered opinion that his move was more for footballing reasons than for the money. I could be wrong of course but that doesn't mean I am not able to form an opinion based on the facts as they are known or can be reasonably surmised.

You do not need perfect information to form an opinion, you silly boy.

£220k against £130k is a hell of a difference, even if it wasn't the primary factor.

The evidence is undeniable:
1) his statement/absurd demands earlier in the summer proved he 100% wanted out and would not sign a new contract
2) he turned down even more money from City than he ended up getting at United
3) he went against all of his family's wishes to make it happen

The idea that we had any choice in this at all is ludicrous. I understand why people may be frustrated that we got ourselves into this situation in the first place and/or haven't adequately replaced him (in a like-for-like sense - to my mind, Cazorla, Podolski and Giroud combined are more valuable to us and will ultimately make more of a difference than Van Persie on his own) but even those issues are far from clearcut.

but I think that was a secondary (if not insignificant) motivation.

He'll be 30 next summer and his injury record would surely have played on his mind.

The 4-year contract he got off United was still a hell of a deal for him. I would be absolutely shocked if he's contributing as much in his 4th season there as he is now (on that contract, there's no chance he's not seeing it out).

More like whenever he leaves there and Cazorla, Podolski and Giroud leave us.
