You have got to be kidding. The club captain joins one of our main rivals and he wants us to respect him. Yeah we respected him over the years while he played a number of half seasons for us but not when you walk out of the club because you think you know better. Where was RVPs respect for Arsene when he was spouting off about not agreeing with the direction of the club and he wanted out ? Where was his respect for the club and the fans when he threw the captain's armband bank in our faces as not good enough for him ?

No chance

I mean he is almost single-handedly responsible for us still being a Champions League club this season

I agree that he is a fantastic player and last couple of years was the star player. But what about all those years where he didn't contribute much/enough. However his football ability is one thing but how people behave is another. After all what gave him such great credentials to think that he knew better than anyone the direction that Arsenal should go ? Nothing other than arrogance and ultimately greed. As a captain you have responsibilities and those include leadership and behaviour respecting the club. To tell the club and his team mates that you are not good enough for me is totally disrespectful. Of course he was well behaved the previous years but then the club showed him such commitment and support that even he couldn't complain. The guy deserves every bit of abuse going.

with the view to getting the best possible outcome for himself?

For most normal people, spouting off against your current employer is not going to get you in with a potential new employer. Oh to be a professional sportsman http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/cry.gif

But I also think he deserves some credit for keeping us in the top four last season, a feat which only a minute handful of players could probably have managed.

Also, I think a small part of me still loves him http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/frown.gif

for a period of time you will miss her, but you will get over it and learn to live again. Of course finding a new girlfriend helps that a lot. Could Jack be that man or do we need to go into the transfer market?

It remains to be seen whether he will be the next 'the one', but i haven't given up hope just yet

and non-football fan about it

It won't affect his game in the least, other than to make him angry and more determined to shut us up

We'll make ourselves look like idiots, like we did when Adebayor scored against us

as opposed to staying at one where he might pick up a minor cup.

The only reason the club was 'loyal' to him through his various injuries was because he's a f**king class act. Had he been a mediocre player, they'd have been mighty quick to show him the door.

I think we all need to be a bit grown up here

and then eventually get over it - the sooner the better.

Some people still haven't got over Ashley Cole.
