both chamakh and giroud looked better alongside a striker.
infact i've realised most strikers cant deal with the lone striker role, i think only messi, drogba and RVP has had great success in that role during the past 10 years.
its a system that strengthens the midfield but puts to much preasure on the strikers and unless you have a fantastic midfield, maybe playing 2 upfront is not a bad idea

4312 would give you cazorla behind 2 strikers and a solid 3 midfield, ok we'd sacrifice the wings, but maybe our fullbacks can do their job.
i feel we need to explore how we can have to 2 upfront imo, often our lone striker is too isolated

Martinez at least showed some balls after that. Don#t want him near the team of course
looks a little off currently

though I would prefer Cazorla in the hole so to speak and Diaby (yes I know) next to Jack in that formation

I've never really understood what that phrase means

How about Podolski?
one of about 2 players that looked bothered/capable in the 1st half (along with Theo)

That there was no one even close running on to them was the only drawback

Coquelin and Frimpong should really never play together

I thought his ball to Theo for the 1st was great. Apart from that I thought he was a mixture of poor and selfish. 2nd half he got into some good positions and opted not to give the ball to teammates in better positions.
Coquelin was awful until about 60 minutes and I couldn't work out exactly what Frimpong had been told to do, did think he was winding himself up to get sent off! Still have no idea how LK6 stayed on the pitch

tbh so much happened in that game I can't remember it all. I can't even recall Theo's winner

Not sure the ref had ever been in charge of a game before - he didn't appear to know many of the rules.

Think I may have had a few at that point - though I clearly remember the Chamsters super lob. Have a feeling Federici gets quite a lot of free food from Waitrose

I also enjoyed his confident turn and lash from the edge of the box.
Giroud looked as if he was growing as well....could see his assuredness as the game progressed.
Bit worried by 2 of the players chucking their shirts into the crowd on full-time....nice to know they're fully clued-up.

actually, that was rubbish
and have to say, I'm inclined to agree. Missed 2 stick-on pens, let Reading get away with some nasty tackles in the 1st 20 mins, LK6 should have gone and huge amounts of injury time (although Reading were constantly wasting time, during injury time)

didn't think he played well at all and was rather selfish imo. Worked hard, yes

Did really well to get into the box and past his man, then had the option to pull it back to 2 unmarked men, but instead he flashed a shot at goal with 2 men on the line and the keeper to beat, making it quite a difficult angle to score from. If the defender had not got a strong foot on it, it would not have ended up with Theo.

there's a time to just clout the thing in the general direction of the goal and hope for the best.
The 5250th minute is in the latter category, I reckon.
rather than his usual trick of going near post
