i dont care if they offered few extra millions, there simply isnt a way to make sense of it.

you flog him abroad or you keep him.

you just dont sell a complete footballer in his prime to your rivals. its like barcelona selling messi to madrid because they made the best bid, they would never.

the decision to sell rvp to MU is embarrassing and a historically retarded decision , we sold our self respect. its nothing compared to selling a decent player like nasri to the shekhs or a pain in the ars like adebayor. this is a football suicide

for a very long time.

Which rather begs the question why have you not made anything of your life?

how can you convince players we can compete when we're selling our best player to them. manu could search all around the world but they will never get a striker like RVP, at his prime, knows the prem and is world class.

we could even justify selling him to city as they are a freak occurrence, has no great history and never been our rival. but not to manu, anyone who knows anything about football would be disgusted by our decision. we acted like prostitutes

Juve offered £7M and when they eventully pushed it up to £10M, RvP had already said he will not go to Juve. What else could Arsenal do, Einstein?

and it took barcelona seven years to recover from that. in terms of regaining their self respect and competing with madrid

And the only other non-English club that was in for him was Juventus, and they didn't have anywhere near the money to make a respectable offer.

It's bad agreed. But arguably not as problematic as what Daniel Taylor's article in Today's Observer suggests!
