But please don't pretend as you did only last season that the majority of Arsenal fans are behind the board or Wenger now. Take yourself outside of the cosy comfort blanket of this board where you can delude yourself that you are the true voice of the fans, and have a look at what other, larger, more representative sites are saying.

Here is the consensus on the Gooner, for starters

http://www.onlinegooner.com/article.php?section=editorial&am p;id=390 (http://www.onlinegooner.com/article.php?section=editorial&id=390)

So what do you think, 70% behind Wenger? Maybe only 60% now? Or are the vast majority of Arsenal fans actually realising that he is complicit in the year-on-year decline of our once great club because he is coasting in a job where he is not expected to win anything.

I'm not a fan of rosey tinted *******s either, realism is the way forward but to try and use the Gooner as a realistic fans perspective.

Villas Boas, Martin Jol etc. In other words, managers at the top of their game, revered throughout Europe.

What then? Why would the new manager be an improvement on Wenger, with access to the same sort of money? You've seen below that we are competing with squads which cost a quarter of a billion pounds,, so how does the new guy do that then?

Along with a new coach we need a change of direction from the board - less conservative, less reliant on FFP, and more willing to be pragmatic to compete.

This board has as many idiots than any of the others.

When you have every Tom, Dick and Rich free reign to express their views on the internet you have to expect utter *******s to follow.

There's an element of Arsenal support which are anti-Wenger, probably grows year on year, more vociferous than normal after the past 7 days. But no way a majority.

Persisting with a keeper we weren't happy with because we wouldn't pay Fulham's asking price for Schwarzer was one example that annoyed me

Once you start talking about the astronomical fees being paid at the top, between City, Chelsea and Utd, we can't possibly build a squad that could or should expect to finish above them. So, until FFP comes into place, it make sense to be happy that we finish a nice third place behind them and hope we get lucky in a knockout competition in the meantime

If FFP fails to achieve what we expect it to, then we put pressure on UEFA to make it work, or we change our strategy

years now. We ended up playing with Mannone in goal despite the fact that both he and Fabianski were free to leave but nobody wanted them. Wenger knew that both were not good enough. He did not buy with the wish that WS would play 90% of the games. This is just an example of many from the past years. Players like NB52, Denilson, Almunia, Fabianksi, Mannone, Eboue, Vela, Ramsey and so many others should not be sitting on the bench of previous Arsenal teams. We ended up trying to loan everyone because nobody wants them with their current contracts because Wenger pays them lucrative wages to keep them together for lots of years, but that is not happening is it? I've got lots more to argue but I still love and admire Wenger for his contribution to the club. BUT things could be a lot better with a few changes...

that in order to bring someone in, another one needs to leave. Nobody wanted Fabianski or Vito so we were left with 2 keepers we knew were not good enough. As simple as that. He gambled that WS would play 90% of the games and that the other 2 could fill for a few games. Gambled & lost in a position Wenger is not that successful. May I remind you the Almunia case (and about 7-8 other failed keepers he brought in the team)?

PSRB

the club has financial constraints to work within and we can't just go and buy the players we/AW wants. Look at spurs, spent considerably more than us and never finished above us during Arsene's tenure and are still stuck in that poxy stadium!! People forget that if wasn't for AW we'd either be at Highbury and diminishing in stature to the size of an Everton or Aston Villa or playing at bloody Wembley!
