View Full Version : Unlike fans like Yesterday-has-been and East Lower, it wouldn't really upset me if Arsenal doesn't

win a trophy in the foreseeable future, I'll still have my season ticket and while they play good football then I am happy.

Of course I'll be happier if a trophy is won now and then but I and many other fans have been through this before and never thought of stop going to matches. In the 70 we went 8 years without a trophy, then another 8 years before we won the league cup and 5 years in the 90s, in other words this is nothing new. The only difference is that we are now playing some great football (last 2 matches apart http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/hehe.gif )

As for people like David Pleat who goes on and on about the high prices, I don't feel that paying less than £40 is a lot of money these days.

It costs a lot more to go to the theater and I enjoy football a lot more.

Perhaps this will show who the real fans are and we end up with people that stay and watch the match for 90 minutes, not the ones whose preference is a pint and therefore arrive late and leave early

probably lose as well, but only between 35 and 40 to watch one of the best teams in the country probably win - Plus the ground isn't in the middle of f**king nowhere.

You pay for your ticket you do what you want. You're not a better supporter in any way because you stay until the game is over. How you support etc during your attendance is the issue.

Frimmers was being nice and doing the good old forgive-and-forget thing, but WES was chanting stuff like "Stand up if you won the war".

I have no issue at all with my decision to leave OT when the 7th United goal went in http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/frown.gif Not actually sure why I was still there at that point

even if it shatters their confidence and worsens the result. Playing to empty stands for the last 10 mins on a saturday afternoon (evening games are different) makes the support look ****, and could even discourage players from joining a club.

match, 10 mins before half-time go off for a drink, come back late after half time and leave early

in other words they watch about 50 minutes out of 90+ minutes of a match. Yes they paid their money and can therefore do what they want but in my opinion its a shame that other fans who love to watch the whole match can't.

In addition, this gets worse every week and sometimes the stadium is half empty with 5 minutes to go at half time and at the end, is that how you want football matches to be?

and lose interest when it stops working, but you can't then claim to have any genuine emotional connection to the club.

You wouldn't walk out the house if your wife was being beaten up, would you?

As long as we finished above them, we were happy.

sometimes miss it, leave a few minutes early at half time for a beer with my mates, get back as close to the whistle as possible for the second half (sometimes miss that one as well) and stay until the final whistle.

Conversely at away games I normally get in about 10 minutes before kick off and unless I need a piss,I don't leave my seat until full time.
