View Full Version : My best guess is that until the day comes where we finish outside the top 4

nothing much will change the way the club is run.

I am not saying it is correct (the contract situation we get ourselves into is pathetic), but it is a model that has made money and enabled us to stay towards the top of English football for the last 16 yrs imho

over the last 16 years we are ranked in the top 8 in the premier competition.

It's not perfect, but had we won one of the 3 finals we have lost in that time there would probably be half as many moaners.

more than just the top players will leave, new players that would have jumped at joining us, will not be interested.

I think most of the frustration is from the fact that each year we have got weaker & weaker, when you look at the type of players we have had & who have gone but been replaced with players that are simply not as good.
This is clearly down to the new stadium, had we stayed at Highbury we probably would have done better in the short term but the club have made the right decision when you look at the longer term. These decisions were made before Russian & arab money bought trophies at other clubs which has undoubtdly made life harder for Wenger.

just pointing out that not qualifying wouldn't necessarily be the end of Champions League football for a long time if you did what City have.

clubs that are not in the CL, this isn't the case if you throw money at them. You are correct no we probably wouldn't but it doesn't mean being in the CL is the be all & end all.
