Souness, as usual, was spot on last night when he said that is almost like the last excuse that can be used for poor performances, and that there's likely to be big problems if that is used as an excuse already.

May be a season following the Euro's, but which of our players really featured heavily anyway? (the German's perhaps)

Also was incredulous that we could sign a player like Cazorla a few weeks back based on his early performances, now I'm wondering if the catch is he can be nullified if marked tightly.

Wouldn't have been an unknown quantity as such (even if lots of fans wouldn't have paid close attention to him in Spain, the coaches and players here would have been aware of him) but at the start perhaps it was not established he would be so pivotal to Arsenal perhaps? Now teams are targeting him.

Puts to bed also this opinion that he's better than Cesc, not a chance.

When Rosenborg did well in the CL, our competitors from leagues that play in the winter would say that "oh, well, you must remember that Rosenborg are at the end of their season, which means they are really match fit, whereas we have just started."

Ok. So how about the argument in May then, that the lads are tired after a long, hard season?

that drives me mad it is when he says things like that, to me you are giving the team an excuse in advance & mentally that can't be good.
