We never seem in any hurry to close players down/get the ball back.

You can see Arteta still has the Everton way about him in rushing players to make mistakes and misplace passes.

Im thinking this is one of major problems, its like we stand off and switch off.

down brilliantly

Jenks wasn't allowed any room at all for runs down the right and every time we had the ball we had a German player within inches.

Yet at times Santos (we had a nightmare) had 3 players against him.

It seemed to me that both Podolski and Vermaealen were carrying injuries

Putting Verma at LB, Santos for Kos and Sticking Gervinho on the left instead of Podolski.

Podolski looks knackered at times aswell.

working to Wenger's instructions. Just because he was sitting in the directors box doesn't mean he didn't talk through all the possible scenarios with Bould the day before and when/if he should bring on players.

I don't know about you but the idea that Wenger would let Bould make those sort of tactical decisions throughout the game seems a bit ridiculous.

of midfield/wide players confronting the player on the ball and leaving their own man unmarked in space. We kept getting caught out in that area of the pitch.

Schalke did close us down well, but we were also guilty of giving the ball away in silly areas under little or no pressure.
