Like this lovely lass here - who normally speaks Jockanese. Listening to the song I thought she was English.

Same with Nogs and Swedes and what not - accent gone when singing. People who stutter also manage to get a grip of themselves when singing.

Sheet, even the Kraut Nena managed to release an English version of the luftballoons.

Although I suspect it was all an act just so he could bed the likes of Jordan.

but then again, I don't think they tried very hard.

I don't think the French manage though. Lost case.

Till he spoke.

I guess the conclusion here is that people are different to each other.

I wouldn't suggest that likes of Oasis, Happy Mondays, Inspiral Carpets sounded as if they didn't come from the North

These do, though. And they sound very southern.

but picked quite a bit of the language from Hollywood action films. As you can imagine he had quite an interesting turn of phrase, the best bit is that he's called Odd Petter. http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/hehe.gif

However, there is also a certain vocal style favoured by some English bands (which has been very commercially successful for them) involving a particularly irritating soaring high frequency wailing noise. I'm obviously looking at Radiohead, Muse and Coldplay here for starters.

Like in the US where all the foul language is on pay TV only. So people think it is ok to go around saying "sh*t". They know "f*ck" is bad. But sh*t is used in situations where it should have been unused.

Not entirely sure if I'm looking forward to it or not tbh.

What do the likes of Brentwood think about listening to a woman screaming:

"She can fuuu*k you good, but I can f*ck you better!"

Are these songs not played on the radio in the UK?

Golddigga by Kanye West is censored in the UK but not here

I've also noticed that youths on the bus don't think twice about saying "Fæn", "Jævla", "Forbanna"etc, and people don't really seem to bat an eyelid

are linked to religion, not sex. There would be eyebrows lifted if the nog equivalent of c*nt of f*ck were used.

We don't swear much though, compared to the Swedes. There is a reason why their country name is "Swear-ige". http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/wink.gif
