So I really had to no idea what to do yesterday when I heard about her mum. I knew if I told her I'd planned a surprise I would be adding more stress and upset onto her plate, and she may feel compelled to come with even though her mum is in a bad way.

So I told her. And she cried.

Then she spoke to her uncle and told him the situation and he insisted that we still go away, and that he'd man for the fort with her mum until she gets back.

So She knows we're going away, but that's all. Doesn't know any details.

a morbid fear of having a wedding. At two family events and at my girlfriend's graduation, her mum's completely ruined the entire day by having panic attacks and fainting.
