Nike drops him as an endorser.

Armstrong steps down from the chairmanship of his Livestrong Foundation, a charitable organization that raises money to find a cure for cancer.

Rather interesting, however, that there is precious little comment about all of this. Only one making a pointed effort to follow the details would be aware of what has been happening. It hasn't been discussed much on ESPN, nor any of the major media outlets. It's like he's fading away rather than being run out of town on a rail of ridicule.

Or does it vary much from state to state?

by the Presidential campaigns in the news media (+Libya to be fair) and all of the sports going on right now for ESPN (gridiron, baseball playoffs, etc.)

I can't say that it is a conspiracy, although I love a good conspiracy. I can't tell whether it's being suppressed OR it was assumed he was guilty all along. It is definitely odd since Lance was built up as the Great American Hero.

Simply fading away "To Bolivia", as Mike Tyson famously said, wasn't in my expectations.

The only thing shown is the Tour de France, and that's on an obscure cable channel. something called Versus, I think.

But Armstrong is a highly recognizable guy for his endorsements and his Foundation. In the mid-2000's every kid knew who he was and wore his bracelets, etc.

but sports wise it is a massive story. I have wondered how much the good work he has clearly done is measured against what he is alleged to have done re drugs is weighing the story in his favour. People are reluctant to stick the boot in when he has helped so many people so just fading out of the limelight is best all round maybe

That he still came back from cancer to win Tours, and the implication was loads of others cheated too but he was still able to be best of all the cheaters, again coming back from cancer to do this.
