The Lance Armstrong stuff got me wondering how long til another sport

has a major drugs scandal? Not talking about the odd isolated banning of a fairly minor player as in football and tennis previously (the likes of Davids, Stam and Guardiola were past their peak anyway when getting their bans I believe), but a shaking to the core kind of banning of a really prominent figure or figures.

There was all those drug testing arguments supposedly preventing the Pacquiao/Mayweather fight happening.

And seen a few rumours flying around that a well known tennis player currently long term injured failed a test but to protect the sport they are declared as injured instead. And the tennis authorities have done this kind of thing before, covering up Agassi's failed tests.

Lots of people with too much to lose if a sport's credibility goes.

but he also came out of nowhere when slumping right down the rankings right back to winning slams and world number 1. Would be kind of a double cover up bluff, just say the drugs were recreational and not performance enhancing if it ever got out.

Funnily enough Serena has had a similar kind of comeback too, and allegedly fairly recently locked herself in her panic room when a tester visited her home...

His last match this year was losing to Rosol at Wimbledon, from memory there was no indication whatsoever he was struggling physically, yet that is likely to be his last match of this calendar year. And again when winning slams, no signs of a problem. Surely tendinitis would flare up from time to time?

I also remember after his last long term absence, he came back really slim, so that he didn't put much pressure on his knees. But he soon bulked up again, winning slams in the process.

I mean, in cycling you're just essentially a ****ter version of an engine, same with running, jumping and all the other athletics stuff.

Football's far more of a technical, tactical and team game so whatever you do to physically raise the bar it doesnt effect your performance half as much.
