gathering or other chatting about the merits of their Arsenal teams? I'm imagining a Clough v Revie scenario.

Why don't we get to see stuff like that? Surely television could make it happen; a weekly show with two or three managers just talking about football together.

Or have they done this and I missed it?

It would be like a football/television version of Test Match Special; just a few old blokes eating cake and chatting about the match.

out that, after their local derby game, most of the S04 players would be home quicker than the Düsseldorf players; that town being far nicer and the domicile of choice of players from all the clubs in the area. Leverkusen, Dortmund etc.

lunchtime at the Frankfurt Airport departure lounge. Managers, players and reporters sitting around drinking beer with a "studio" audience also drinking beer and chatting about football.

Great stuff.

Is it true that they park it outside the referee's house on the day before he takes charge of a Schalke game?

remember that alot of the houses in the town are painted in their colours.

You know, make a bit of a spectacle of it, bounce questions off of eachother, get a bit of tension in the room, make it gladiatorial, a match after the match.

How cool would that be?

Also, yes, your idea would be ace.

I just don't like the way football is treated like armament reduction treaty negotiations.

The game belongs to all of us doesn't it?

I've got a whole new respect for Clough, bearing in mind I'm 35 and only every really knew him as a sodden old drunk.
