I'd like to remind everyone though, that I was the first person to discover him and try as hard as you all might, by liking him you are apeing me.

I'm cool with that, or more accurately I am used to it, but just as long as you all know.

I think it's a brilliant bit of subversion

that The Hangover isn't an utterly **** film.

what appears to be a mainstream, 'filmed infront of a live audience' sitcom before being hit by a scene like the one when the wife makes Louis look at her asshole http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/hehe.gif

I mean, my respect for people *has* plummeted quicker before but what on god's green earth were you thinking, man?

Sure, it was funny in places, sure it was a relatively fresh twist on a couple of tried and tested conceits but really? I mean hammy and hackneyed endings should take their collective hats off to this film for taking the biscuit.

The Hangover 2 is better than Bridesmaids, it makes the original look like Citizen Kane.

so there may have been an element of relativity in my appreciation of the former.

But you say yourself that it was "funny in parts". That alone is an improvement on The Hangover, which was not only unfunny but deeply unpleasant from start to finish.

The best thing you can say is that it was inclusive enough to entertain every type of cretin. It was coarse enough to keep the witless, braying Friday night multiplex crowd happy but was kept light on the gross-out stuff that could alienate your over-sensitive girlfriend.

This was epitomised by the scene with Mike Tyson - the closest the film got to being funny - which could have been so much better had they been willing to push it.

As for you! I only hope for your sake that your enjoyment of it was an abberation as you seem a discerning chap otherwise.

"Now managed by Portuguese whippersnapper Vilas-Boas, SPURS are two points above Arsenal, so they must be improving. Tottenham come to Arsenal on November 17 and that fixture, for once, might be an interesting game."

It might be just me, but haven't the games in the last few years been pretty interesting? Spurs have, after all, improved to the point where they are starting to be challengers to us again.
