This is quite a new phenomenen, mid 30s men being given immediate chances at big clubs without serving their time and gaining experience at smaller clubs first.
I'm guessing Mourinho has a lot to do with this (not so much for the age but the unproven track record when he got his management chance) as Chelsea and Inter are two of his old clubs who went for AVB and Inter now Stramaccioni.
