Monaco is a dodgy tax-haven, not a real country. Tenerife is part of Spain.

Bottom line is all these teams with at times tenuous links to the host league's country all have to play somewhere. So no reason Barca couldn't still play in La Liga even if they do eventually gain independence from Spain.

The Barca-Real duopoly hoovers up all the money in Spanish football. The others would love to see that broken, so they might have a chance of competing again.
