View Full Version : All you saying Wenger was right to sell RVP to united

Yes, Arsene knows.

What a f**king player.

What kind of manager sells his only superstar player in the peak of his career to a direct rival, just because that player wanted to go???

Look what Ferguson said when Heinze wanted to go to lpool. He should have kept him with the team we have now we would have challenged and probably won things this season, united are not much better than us bar rvp.

He will score 40 goals this season and will score against us in a few weeks, and some of you will still say 'Arsene knows' http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/rubchin.gif

It's amazing that people are seeking to blame arsene for this, especially when it was all Robin's doing.

These people are r'tards

However I am not fond of selling players to 'rivals'

It seems a trend in recent years. Of course City have got lots of money and people think players like Clichy are ****. Well to be honest I think he's quite good.

It just may appear to some the club is happy to sell players to whoever.

Best all round if we just all grow up and let the van Persie issue go.

He's left the club, adios and bon voyage.

The fact that it may appear to be the case to some is a testament to their own reductive approach to things rather than the real situation.

easy to say. but it will be difficult when he scores against us, and wins them the league.

remain amongst the world's global elite clubs during his time with us, not least with his goals last season.

Also a very good professional, and all-round nice boke, by all accounts...

It's like when you're on the train and they call you customers. You're not, you're passengers, it's not like you can get a train from a rival company that you prefer.

The transaction between club and fan is fans pay for entertainment, club does its best to provide it.

The relationship between club and player is between employer and employee, which comes with moral obligations.

able to leave for nothing next year and the money has enabled us to strengthen the squad to the point that it is arguably stronger than last season.

We could have kept him but then when he left at the end of this season for nowt, we'd be pretty f**ked.

will come at the expense of the club. He will probably be a key reason they finish ahead of us, as he is so good.

So overall its at the expense of our team. if your comparing us to a business - wenger has substantially improved the quality of a competitor, and reduced ours big time, by giving them one of his prime assets. and part of his argument is moral obligation http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/rubchin.gif

What's to say he'd play, play well, stay fit or give it the requisite effort?

That's a £25m gamble when the club can ill afford to gamble and, I'm sure it'd not escaped your notice, we'd already signed his replacements.

we shouldve made it clear to him before we bought girioud, obviously.

Dont worry about players wanting to go, look at Rooney. You can ALWAYS make u-turns and fans will always be ok with it once you start scoring etc.

Rooney gets homesick when he's more than four miles from the M62 for god's sake, also it was a massive climb-down/volte face/u-turn from the lad frgsn there.

Rooney held the club to ransom and won, RvP held the club to ransom and was told in no uncertain terms that we are not at home to mr blackmail.

o2be a gooner
10-03-2012, 11:35 AM
my point is that it doesnt matter if Rvp said he wanted to leave and wasnt extending his contract - these things happen. players can make uturns and its all forgotten.

It doesnt mean we couldnt have kept him. i just think its a big mistake selling rvp to a rival, id rather have kept him and actually probably won something. he isnt just any player. he is awesome and with our improved team thise season (defence and midfield, and with pololski) we would have won something. now united will...
