That's the problem when you try to dig yourself out of a huge hole, his whole case rested on the fact that he admitted using the words himself but was repeating what he thought Ferdinand had said, but the fact was Ferdinand didn't say it.

Frankly I don't believe him, I think he used the words to try to rile Ferdinand in their on field spate and go caught.

too much conflicting evidence from all sides, so no one could prove catagorically he said the words in a racist context.

they look at the findings made against each charge. Terry admitted using the language on the field, it's against FA rules so opened him up to the FA charge. Guilt was not an issue cos he admitted it in the court of law.

A sort of JT Clause, if you will.

It seems that he can feel both that he got away with it and that he's been hard done by at the same time.


I do, of course, accept that the FA's rules are necessarily vague.
