View Full Version : Monty, who even are these 'majority' of Arsenal fans you claim to have polled for their views on

our players? In the stadium? On AWIMB? The comments section of Online Gooner? Are they the views of your dad?

There is no doubt that some people will each have derided one or more of those players you listed as having taken flak. This does not equate to most of our players being written off by most of our fans. Different fans will have written off different players, and those with negative opinions are more likely to express them. So your premise has suffered a double-logic fail, before we even start on the exclusivity of Arsenal fans compared to football fans in general, or even football fans compared to other sports fans. As you don't follow other sports you probably have no idea of the kind of dribble that gets posted about them.

All in all, you can't deny that for a man who considers himself an exceptional talent in terms of intelligence and analysis, it was a pretty poor post.

general concensus from various sources including reading Awimb, speaking to and hearing fellow fans at games, at the pub, etc?

They've done all sorts of maths to show how Man U would be struggling now without Robin's goals - as if they would otherwise be playing with 10 men and the games would be played out in exactly the same way but with a ghostly space taking Robin's place.

So basically the same piece they wrote about us.

So yes, my original point is valid.

that would be correct and I would agree with you.

That is very different from most of our players getting stick from most of our fans. The number of people that slag off all our players is fairly small, even though the number of people who slag off some of our players is fairly large.

Take Neg and Nic. One known for being moany, the other known for being an ostrich. Having sat with Neg at games for a couple of years the only player in our current top XI-ish you listed who he's consistently criticised is Gibbs. Nic, OTOH, has been constantly critical of Arshavin, who despite his obvious shortcomings, is still a fine player on his day.
