From the starting line up on Sunday, only three players (Podolski, Carzola and Arteta) have avoided being written off by a majority of fans, and Podolski is probably only one relatively quiet game away from that fate.

Every player in Sunday's line up apart from the above three has appeared on the spectrum of ****ness somewhere between ‘utter clown’ (Mannone, Diaby, Mertsacker) to ‘simply not good enough’ (Jenks, Gibbs, Gervinho), to ‘almost certainly not good enough (Ramsey, Kosceilny).

Then take into account our two subs, Walcott and Giroud…
