an ankle breaker at Highbury in the 90s.

Still, great defensive coach all the same.

and remeber watching david in early 1990s from the 1993 cup finals.

Along with waddle he was the one i feared from wedesday in those fa and league cup finals. He was quality and also great in the air. Treviour francis lucky to have him. For me he kind of guy that red nose would have loved to played for him.

wedesday were a great cup side in early 1990s. They won league cup in 1991 but sadly in late 1990s for them things started going wrong for them.

reason to. we were a very succesful side under george .

What annoyed me is although near george latter years people called his style boring , we in fact played great football under george in 1986 to 1992 peroid. The day ian wright won goldern boot some of football we played to hammer southampton was just wonderful.

ok the peroid from 1993 to 1995 we won thing but it was not as pretty but untill then we played as good as football as you will see.

It appears that Hirst's top flight career didn't end until 1999, seven years on.

Just remembered: he netted the equaliser in the '93 Final as well.

and he came on as sub and i never seen anyone like him. he was like the massive tall freak of nature and wedesday did not know how to handle him.

ian wright was equally happy to have this monster setting him up. http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/smile.gif

of Hirst's top-flight career.
A gap of 7 years.

Incidentally, I love seeing the granite hewn Bould on the bench in his shorts, which I'll wager he'll be wearing come December.

Got a feeling the likes of 'Pards' and Hughes'll have second thoughts about any touchline ructions with Arsene, when he's looming nearby.

Directly he would have done had Eduardo never again turned out for first-team action after that horror incident.
He came back fuly repaired physically, but I believe the psychological scars never healed, being ever so slightly more hesitant than previously, and who can blame him.
The frenetic pace of the PL had him permanantly beaten, so he's had to step down to continue.

Do you remember Dan Smith inflicting damage on Diaby shortly before the CL Final in '06 with a cowardly one?
I honestly think he's never been the same player since, as his development's been arrested, and has lead to the mulitiude of injuries he's had ever since.
Dan Smith's certainly altered the path of his career but, 6 years on, it can't really be said that he's ended it.
