it is a shame that football journalism has become so tepid and narrow minded
on the one hand we had Wenger's latest team showing that all need not be about who has the largest cash investment and - more fundamentally and revelationary - demonstrating repeatedly throughout the match that a smile and Corinthian spirit of sporting play are not completely dead in the game (some Olympic spirit learned and not just paid lipservice too like with other managers - example one, our players repeatedly helping Citieh players back to their feet, and alos helping them stretch out cramps, etc)
one the other hand we had the 'retirement' of English football greatest ever self-server, the utterly, utterly despicable morally moribund, stalin of the blue shirts. Cynical and snide and re-writing history to the end.
Hoorah to Wenger. And good riddance to bad rubbish.
