Left my sacks hanging out my flies for a laugh and one of the girls complained to HR. Was only like that for 15 minutes or so in the canteen and most people thought it was decent. Not too hopeful of keeping the job but I dont care anyway as it was bringing me down.

And a friend of mine liked to do similar while sitting in the common room, waiting for one of them to notice his indiscretion and scuttle out of the room.

Actually, I think he liked showing them off to all of us http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/frown.gif

I thought you lot had stamped out Christianity in the UK, or certainly evangelicals.

i got my cock out, put Of Mice and Men in front of my crotch area and leaned back on my chair to show off my cock to her on the other side of the room. She got all hot and bothered http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/hehe.gif

I'd happily allow Brits to own a shot gun for when they knock http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/nod.gif

Seem to be lots of them types, with Ricky Gervais as High Priest.

I suspect it's something to do with Exeter having a lot of students from the developing world but don't know enough to be sure...

Refreshing to see, in a way. I am observing an upswing in the interest of religion amongst college age kids here as well. Could be a sign of the economic times, world unrest, etc.

I've hardly ever met any in person - at least, not since myself when I was about 16-19 and used to welcome the JWs and Mormons in for a chat. http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/wink.gif I used to take pride in knowing that whatever else, the time I spent with them I spared a few other buggers from being bothered by them that day.

Seriously though, the powers-that-be back in the 19th century were in despair at the godlessness of the London proletariat. The complete theological indifference of the masses was certainly what I inherited from my family roots, despite attending a fairly hardcore religious school.

There's a difference between arguing a firm secular line when the theological question arises, and going out into the world motivated primarily by the urge to preach an understanding of the universe on non-theological lines.

We do have quite a number of very noticeably devout religious people amongst us though. I gather they call themselves muslims.

My personal experience is that for a lot of folks it is all in the presentation of the evangelicals (in general!) that is offputting. I believe today's culture yearns for a soundly reasoned, historically accurate approach to the Bible. It is quite interesting to see the Bible compared side-by-side with secular history. If done in this fashion you will see that, indeed, these people did actually exist and the events described did actually occur. It's the interpretation bit that you get into the notion of faith.

I am currently involved in such a study of the Book of Psalms -- essentially a songwriters collection spanning 1000 years! Included are a few songs written by some brothers, perhaps the Gibbs' of their day? Or the Everly Brothers? http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/hehe.gif
