He was a huge inspiration at his peak - not just the goals, but the attitude, swagger and energy. He showed exactly the same desire and commitment up front that we always saw from the boys in defence.

When he opened his mouth later to sing and try his hand at presenting, he lost a lot of credibility, but for a while back in the day he was a genuine kind of street icon in London - and not just among us gooners.

Whatever, he'll never be forgotten as long as there's an Arsenal Football Club...
