View Full Version : Can Mannone seriously be our number 1 this season?
he suggests he's ready for it in a recent interview, and that Wenger is taking him seriously now too. Think he probably will stay in now for a while or until he makes a mistake. Chesney needs to sort himself out, but not sure where Fabianski stands when fit either.

/Almunia situation. Only a matter of time before he f**ks up when it matters.

I remember that game at Fulham.
If Mannone plays well at City, would be harsh to drop him on the balance of performances this season. Bit like the situation Kos finds himself in, Chesney too might have to wait his turn

that others would really have been hounded for.
I wonder, has DI JJSB investigated if that was due to spot fixing. Best call Tony in for questioning IMO.

happy to put in some c**t who was on loan at Hull all season, a c**t who has looked dodgy more than he has looked decent during his Arsenal career.
Arsene always talks up his keepers, he said Fabianski could challenge for no.1 not long ago.

as he knows he is number 1 but not to let his fun and games and ego think that position is 100% safe.
Otherwise he may not improve.
Mannone is ****. Fabianski is ok but relies too heavily on confidence and Martinez has good credentials but nobody has seen him play as far as I'm aware.

Szczesny is still a far better keeper, the situation with the centre backs is less clear cut than that.

and of the two games so far he has played he made excellent saves against Sunderland. He is a class above Mannone

Might have impaired his kicking slightly. Of course, you could argue that he shouldn't have played if that was the case, but he's obviously regarded as the number 1 when anywhere near fit enough to play.
Same as Seaman when Manninger had his great run, as soon as Seaman was fit he walked straight back into the team.

Whether it's an injury or not, something is not quite right at the moment. Don't get why Mannone is getting so much flak either, probably that howler in the Champions League in people's minds but he's not done much wrong this season really

if he keeps playing and doing well this will change in people's minds. I am not a huge fan but I did point out previously when he was getting flak, this lad was playing for Italy U21 for a long time. Must be some competition at that level as you would imagine most Italian clubs have young Italian keepers on their books and it was not like he was getting first-team action either. Must have some talent
