Bought my Ipod classic approximately three years ago

Got a 4G Ipad 2 this year

now been thinking is it worth getting an Iphone 5? Main reason to get it is so I can use it with the Ipad 2 (both 4G compatible) saving me paying monthly for internet £15+. Thing is I can't see how it can be cost effective.

£15 per month saved, but £40-50 a month on a monthly contract, or a sim card plus a fee towards the new phone. I'd still be keeping my other phone.

I'm questioning how cost effective it will be.

Year, a few trial locations aside.

I'm ok with 3G in the UK now and knowing that I won't have to upgrade my IPad when 4G comes in next year.

Android wifi tablet, android smartphone, 1 contract £35 per month, 1GB data and tethering allowed off the smartphone.

You cannot tether a device to use the iPhone's data connection.

I'm not in the position of some people who say they only use their Ipad for everything now. Unless it's just that I'm not using it properly yet.

it is disabled by Apple unless you jailbreak it. Tethering via Blutooth is also blocked

Completely defeats the purpose of having a web browser. http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/banghead.gif

it's not worth me getting an iphone 5.

I'm sure I watched a Barrister colleague use his iphone to thether it to his ipad so he could send emails from his ipad.

It won't work, trust me, even if you are near one of Everything Everywhere's masts. It's why they had to stop promoting that as a feature over here.

The option seems to be blocked by Apple, I think
