I prefer to get the bigger boat to A Brygge now as it is more stable than the small fast boat, which makes me a little sea sick sometimes

Lot of yanks take the coastal cruise, you can take it from Bergen to Kirkenes. But it's expensive, you know, the boat is packed with American senior citizens with blue hair and a solid bank account.

You can go norf in the winter and see the aurora light, go skiing etc. or you can go in the summer and experience the midnight sun. You can go for fjords or you can go for mountains. You can go to Oslo in the summer and combine it with Copenhagen and Stockholm, or you can focus on the west coast which really has the greates nature.

Brentwood can probably give you some good advice as a furiner in nogland. He actually goes for a fjordcruise every day!

Adding to what GnR has said, there are some fantastic train journeys where the views are beautiful

Look around on this webiste. They market it as the world's best train ride

You can fly from Stansted to Oslo for as low as 60 quid return as well

The lights are at their most frequent in late autumn and winter/early spring. In the time span between autumn equinox and spring equinox (21 September - 21 March), it is dark the whole time between 6 pm and 1 am, and you have maximum chances of spotting the lights. However, the weather is also of importance, and September, October and November tend to be wet and snowless in the north.

So i hope I have a good chance

backpackers. I want fjords, I want mountains, I want hiking. the coastal ferry might be worth it, albeit expensive. scotland, you just can't get to half these places going overland. and you have to drive a hundred miles because you're following the coast. I'll check this all out further!
