They seem to have lost some pace since being nicely asked to take the illegal bits off their car.

always had Lewis has his teammate or because I remember how dominant he was when the rules got changed and the Virgin Racing car was so far ahead of anything else, I'm not sure.

first season and was then 43 points ahead of him last year.

Everyone was expecting Hamilton to crush Button but it didn't happen.

Button's WDC in 2009 in the Brawn was helped by the small defence budget that Honda spent on the car developing it, before giving up and selling the team to Ross Brawn for £1. It was the double-diffuser that made it the best car for half a season but there was no development, so everyone caught up, but JB had enough wins to be safe.

JB's problem is that he can't really get anything out of a crap car, while LH and Alonso can. Lewis's problem is that he is a bit of a tool, as the world is coming to notice. Button and Alsonso were both pricks when younger of course, but Lewis doesn't seem to have grown up yet.

Hamilton drove like a hot head moron last season. He's always been the faster driver. That's even more evident now that he's got a bit more patient and doesn't try to squeeze his car through gaps that aren't' there. Button will never be World Champion again, Lewis will.

his shoes a bit better, which is even more vital these days. But as you say, it's Hamilton's maturity that lets him down. Especially last year in the racing department.

Seems to have got better this year, but still acts like a **** when he's out of the car.

Any way you can tell what sort of machine Mercedes will have next year for him? Rosberg and Hamilton could be one seriously quick partnership!

Publishing confidential data is a ridicules thing to do. If an engineer had done it, he's by not only fired but taken to court.

- and if Lewis leaves McLaren, it's more likely that they'll develop the car around Jenson.

yes, I take your point. If we had a Brawn GP situation again then a test driver could win races.

Di Resta less money and build a car suited to one driver instead of trying to strike a balance between two different styles.

I'm starting to think teams need a clear No.1 and No.2 instead of trying to appease both.

Btw, What's happening with Kubica?

equal (Alonso, Hamilton).

but his bling bling pop star management team seem to think that Merc is a bigger brand to help turn him into the new David Beckham. I think he's being badly advised if he really wants to go there.

The only possibility is the new engine regs for 2014, where Merc might (as developers) get a bit of a head start over their customers (like Macca) but I doubt it would be much.

Michael Schumacher has hardly had a car capable of finishing a race this year, and Lewis is considering joining them? Nah. It's surely all a ploy to force the negotiations with McLaren.
