If you text stop you just get them from another number. Worst thing to do probably just tells them your phone is active.

might keep an email at a push.

I can't remember the last time somebody sent me an email outside of work to my personal email to arrange something. Apart from the occasional use of it at work like a chat.

Got a grand back so far. easier to do it yourself than give a cut to one of these companies

when files are closed. But you can request a SAR (subject access request) for a £10 fee which should then retrieve your details. I may have to do this on some of mine, the others are more recent, should be traceable by address

The banks also have to pay interest on the actual charge, over a number of years that can really boost the payout.
Some of the online applications had pre ticked PPI boxes, you have them bang to rights in those scenarios. Have a look at moneysavingexpert.com and the PPI section in the forum, tells you everything you need to know

All banks BY LAW must (if asked for) supply you with the paperwork so why anyone wants to chuck away 25% is beyond me

These companies are taking a big cut for just writing a letter or two you could write yourself
