At 31 he would be a short term signing.

I believe chelsea are having a stand pff with cole in precisely the same situation- 31 and ofering a oneyear deal. And this is chelsea, serial spunkers of money since 2003

This is all assumption. Maybe they are due to sit down with him next week. Maybe that explains the timingof the announcement. Who knows.

Clearly itis going to be an issue, judging by the comments.
