View Full Version : The media still trying to work the "it's all down to Steve Bould" angle with tenuous quotes

from our players.

Vermalen: "He has a lot of experience at a high level with Arsenal. We work a lot on our defensive play"

I wonder, in a parallel universe, if Pat Rice had come in as assistant manager this summer, whether exactly the same would have been said?

that Wenger doesn't care about the defending side of the game.

I expect Adrain Durham will make us not conceding any goals yet a negative

definitively amazing. We were good enough defensively last season to not let in enough goals to prevent us finishing a creditable third http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/shrug.gif

Gutted to be missing it - will endeavour to watch it here and get as drunk as you (for slightly less money). Except for sw of course - no one gets that drunk

Looking forward to Australia South Africa on Saturday - have a feeling it could be a very good game, both teams have to prove something.

Finally saw the Aviva highlights from the weekend - what a day that would have been to be at Twickenham

You really seem to have a bee in your bonnet about this. Do you have any compelling evidence to suggest that he hasn't?

The truth is none of us really know why we are suddenly defending better than we have in years. Good that we are though isn't it?

Always liked Quinns. Still not sure about Robshaw as a captain but he seems to do a good job. Interesting thing on the Lions captaincy - Gatland will have to announce it without being 100 per cent sure who will play - so many candidates in the back row to play and captain. Might have to just pick BoD and hope he stays fit

Arteta seems to be much more focussed into holding the deeper position than Song was

"The truth is none of us really know why we are suddenly defending better than we have in years."

Anyway, I reckon if you looked back through recent years you'd find 3 clean sheets in a row...

the less goals you concede the more the opposition forward knows how important each chance is - hence the pressure is increase. Even after two games our defence was being praised rather than shot down

Anyway, if we had won our home game and taken draws in Stoke & Liverpool then would it would generally be taken as a great start.
