I wouldn't get too hung up on it for now, some of the players we have benching at the moment and/or coming back from injury are more than good enough to play, and need to play.

If Diaby gets much action with France in the next week for example I would expect to see him not start v Southampton and Ramsey to play.

I've seen one of our games in full this year (Stoke) so not nearly enough to judge but I actually thought he looked quite promising. Good with his back to goal, very physical, makes intelligent runs and generally a good spearhead for this team. He's clearly no Van Persie but I think he'll do alright.

Talking of which, imagine if Van Persie had stayed - this team would've looked really strong. Shame. Oh well.

There seems to be a perception that he is a traditional big man, a target man. He is far from it, has some very silky skills and good with his feet (even though he has not shown that yet at Arsenal) and has a powerful shot.Like you said can hold the ball up well, makes great runs. Hopefully he gets a few on target and build some confidence.
