Politics seems absurdly partisan in America; even more so than over here.

I can sort of understand why he acts with such defiance. Feeling persecuted often makes people even more stubborn, it certainly does with me anyway, and perhaps he feels like he is on here.

Chief posted a message to the effect of the liberals of Occupy movement being filthy and disgusting, and that those on the 'right' demonstrate in a far more civilized manner.

I responded on the thread (paraphrase) "like spitting on Congressmen on the steps of the US Capitol building,..and like blowing up planned parenthood buildings"

Thats quite a leap of assumption by Chief.

I replied saying that I did NOT believe that he supported these actions, and that I felt he was a very intelligent, well read guy who clearly has a deep love for his country. I was merely saying there are nut nut's on BOTH extremes of the political parameter, and that his ridiculous bias may fool some,...but not all.
