Not many will match the ridiculous wages being paid to Arshavin or Bendtner for starters. And you'd struggle to give the other two away - utter ****e that they are.

departure is announced. Igors Stepanos is a better finisher.

Firstly, the roads are utter ****e compared to France. Why must they insist on making roads from slabs of concrete full of pot holes?!

Next, there are far too many hills, especially on that road into Brussels.

My next complaint centers on the lack of air conditioning in bars. The beer cave in the Delirium Cafe was stupidly hot when it was 36c outside. The same is true for the Absinthe Bar.

My main complaint, however, is the lack of clubbing culture in Belgium. We found two nightclubs which were both **** but apparently your only real options in the capital. Both were members only clubs and required a sizable tip to gain entry.

The girls also speak **** English.

Then again, I haven't been clubbing in Belgium for over 7 years now. Not in Brussles for 12 years.

To claim my country has no clubbing culture is frankly ridicules though.

How was the bike ride?

days after arriving, this is despite me wearing padded shorts for the whole ride.

Got a puncture near the less than pleasant Belgian town of Pecq but on the whole, extremely glad I did it. Very rewarding IMO.

However, if you're thinking of doing something similar, my advice would be not to. Get the train.
