we are again in profit on ins and outs , this is simply madness , we need a defensive midfield player and another right sided defender , if we will go into the season with this squad we will struggle to finish top 4 , we got lucky last year, i don't understand it , still we have a week left to rectify situation

Need at least four - but no chance that will happen.

I doubt Wenger wants anymore but will be forced to panic buy just like last season

Needs to be someone who is available, good enough and willing to spend most of the games on the bench. M'vila maybe, but there are big questions about his attitude...

When fit, Arteta, Wilshere and Cazorla will be the first choice, so any new player will be backup. Even then, we still have Ramsey, Rosicky and Diaby as well for the three positions. Oxlade and Coquelin can play there as well. If anything, we may be better off with an extra winger or striker, especially if Arshavin goes, but again will be backup.

Not really the point though. The point is what we need, not how much is will cost.

Not a hope in hell. That isnt going to be our first choice, trust me. It simply doesnt have the physical power or balance of strengths to survive as a premier league midfield.

Diaby, coquelin, frimpong or a new signing. One of those four will play in every game.

and we're tops of the rest. They can't have ALL of the class players...

Maybe not against the likes of stoke, but no reason why that will not work in most games. I think we don't give Arteta enogh credit for his defensive play. We played with Cesc and Flamini before and neither were particularly big. Scholes, Anderson and Carrick was also a winning midfield without being particularly powerful.

but somebody to protect our defense is a must , Song went missing all the time

Positional sense and could tackle. You are talking about lining up with three playmakers, all of whom are at their best when on the ball. Without the ball, none of them shine.

It wont work and wenger knows it. I would be surprised if they ever play together as a three. Even if you could sort of get it to work you would be relying on at least one of them to play in a way that doesnt reflect their strengths. You wont see the best of arteta if you force him to sit deeper and hold.

Fact is for most games, we are in possession most of the time, so it makes sense for us to have players who are good on the ball and can make chances.

For most games, a pure defensive player is really redundant. There was a reason why Song was out of position so often - if he sat back, he will have little to do.. That is not to say that a defensive midfielder will not be useful in some games though.

I was talking about a better balance of stengths across the three. Song is a better fit with arteta and cazorla then wilshere is. That much should be obvious to anybody. Wenger's selections in the last two years show you this, so you have no need to take my word for it.
