View Full Version : We do appear to give the impression of a penny pinching bunch of c**ts, don't we ?

If all of this press spec is true, that we're pulling out due to some 14m buy out fee ( that in reality can only be based upon how the player performs during the season, and thereby, re negotiable ), then where is the hesitation ? see adebayor.

If it's more to do with supporting levels of the players wages for a season, the difference really shouldn't be that huge between what Liverpool and Arsenal are prepared to pay.

If he is an intended target, then I can't see what we have to lose. If he cant cut it then he goes home, like Yossi and if he's a star in the making, 14m doesn't seem a ludicrous amount.

What am I missing here people ?

Not allowing ourselves to get f**ked over does not mean penny-pinching.

BBC reported it incorrectly

@Boca35 I was told there was, now assured there isn't. Apologies for confusion. It has been one of those deals!

Of course in Europe with third party ownerships and part ownerships it's more common

We all know that player power drives the deals through in the end and if Sahin played out of his skin for either club, then Real would probably be forced to sell.

The unknown, is how he settles and how good he actually turns out to be.

Liverpool are prepared to take the greater gamble, which is fine, as long as we only have a mediocre interest.

I understood, we'd been tracking this guy for years, even before he went to Madrid.

I wouldn't take too much notice of purchase options, if a player digs in and wants to leave.

Im talking about a fundamental aspect of the loan which was apparently the deciding factor in Wenger's decision not go through with the deal.

We wanted a purchase option because, had he performed well for us this season, there would be a queue of far richer clubs in to buy him and we'd get gazzumped.

Always a gamble on how a player settles but there's not too many that would wwant to live and work in that ****hole for long.

Seems to be the long and short of it. If we could have tried to buy him on the relative cheap, then we were interested. AW likes him as a player but is probably trying to balance that with whether we really need another player like him or if we should invest in a different MF/elsewhere

As for Real being forced to sell, do you not think if he has a great year they might want him back? He would still have four years left on his contract and if he is wanted at Real he is more likely to stay there

And presumably we get some kind of modest loan fee when sending our young unproven players out on loan too then

These aren't the same thing. Yes we would get fees in some cases, I would imagine the lower league ones might be different

Daniel Agger was gutted at talk of him moving to Man City, Gerard could have left, Suarez could have left to join a champions league team, Jagielka wasn't that bothered about leaving...

To leave real. He wants a loan to prove himself and then go back.

I could be wrong of course, but there is nothing to suggest that he wants to leave permanently.
