van der Vaart off to Hamburg it would seem. Maybe he is just keeping the ones who get on with Adebayor

Huddlestone back would make a difference, and a fit Dawson would give them a lot of depth in the defensive department. LOOOOOOOL

their fullbacks and kaboul are as confused as defenders get in this league.

vertoghen looks like a decent defender, but unproven at the prem, he could flop, why sell dawson?

AVB demonstrates lack of experience imo

and wanting to change everything at record speed.

which he clearly illustrates

Telling other blokes in their 30s what to do. In Friedel's case he's around 5 years older than him too! Maybe that's why Vilas Boas has to do more on the authority front, as he tried to at Chelsea, because the players respect would not come automatically

Trying to be a mini-mourinho doesn't really work

only younger by six months though

tarnished reputation, and an even bigger gamble now than the one Chelsea originally took

He was only at Porto for a season and came in on high - something he can hardly say at Spurs

at porto, he came to a settled team, and any changes in the team was not his decision, Pinto da Costa was the man who was in charge of transfers.

secondly, he was there only for a year, he was told to manage the team, he got of a good start and kept winning, he never made huge decisions in benching stars, dealing with defeat (undefeated) or questions from the press, fans and players.

i was really exited by him when he was there as his team played a very attacking football, but the man really isnt proven

I'd guess most people would have an issue about at least one of these things. I got interviewed once by a bloke who looked early 20s, it was ridiculous.

and as I'm not interested in management myself, being technical, I'll probably have lots more younger bosses. When I've actually got work, that is. http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/ohwell.gif

But back to the original point I'd say AVB's age is his main hindrance, rather than nationality. You have to be pretty special in any walk of life to successfully lead people older than you, is he good enough to do this?

It's unusual in a football environment, but not in a standard work environment.
