Started off reasonably well with the stadium in good spirits but as the game unfolded most of us were a left a little flat and it seemed the same old same old from the team, it did seem they were trying too hard to give us a win but once again Gervinho couldn't see the obvious pass not enough options in midfield to get the ball up to the forwards and we couldn't break down a team intent on defending, trouble is most teams will set up like that and we don't seem to have an answer...2nd half all around were moaning about wenger and the cost of season ticket etc ....all in all a flat day when a win would have been a tremendous boost - I agree with the jenkinson comments nice lad and all but he should have had an extended loan spell - he's not good enough for the Arsenal .
Giroud looked good, Cazorla looked confused and podolski isn't fit yet.
Arshavins had his usual impact on the game and we are still managing to take a ball from the oppositions box back to our half and then lose possession - ho hum - it may be a long old season........

As long as you keep possession when doing it, which we didnt a few times today

Also, maybe it's just me but I do think the midfield balance was well out of cock.

Surprised with how well Gervinho played though, big season for the drive in cinema.

All good points, but I think ultimately it all just comes down to taking one chance - and as early in the game as possible. As soon as it's one-nil against these teams that defend en masse then the game changes completely and they have to attack more and we have a chance to get three or four.

Miss one of those chances and the crowd starts to get restless, the players look tense and the opposition run even more and put even more bite into their tackles.

Giroud missed that easy chance, but our attack looked more varied when he came on. He gives us another option, especially in the air. It was crazy seeing perfect crosses landing on the heads of Podolski and Walcott, who aren't strong in the air. Giroud might have put one of those in the back of the net.

He read the game and won balls but when you are in possession in their half - you look for a runner - we didn't really have one - that's what I meant

is that he's not good enough, full stop. not blaming him for anything. surely that is not beyond your comprehension.
