Seems the instant gratification of trophies has overtaken the long-term gratification of becoming a club legend. Honestly, in 20 years, will anybody at Manchester City or Arsenal even talk about Nasri and Clichy? RVP was a couple more good seasons and a testimonial away from being a memorable player at Arsenal, now he'll be vaguely remembered as a turncoat and nobody in Manchester will recall who was Rooney's strike partner that one season after Manchester City won the league.

who can be just as ruthless as players when dealing with contracts. This is a two way street (like any business) only difference is the presence of fans in the whole deal. While I admire Matt Le Tissier in some ways can't help thinking that his lack of ambition was behind him never becoming as good a player as he could be

i'm confident RvP would have stayed had we won anything or showed promise of doing so in the future. A lot of the blame must come down to how the club is run.

However he is a c**t for going to the club for whom we have had genuine rivalry and hatred of in the past 25 years.

For me yes but that may be due to my age. However his arsenal career and legend staus was jettisoned by a ruthless manager. It is a pity we no longer have that ruthless manager

We've had plenty of chances to win things over the last 7 years. Some years have been closer than others, but it's not as if we've gone out in the 1st round of every cup and finished 12th every year.

Of either his attitude or that he feels isn't good enough any more?

That's why I don't get too worked up about transfers out, really.

We break even, even with expensive prices. New commercials should help in a few years time. We're trying to manage the wage bill better. http://www.awimb.com/images/smiley_icons/shrug.gif

Top 4 every year domestically with 3 PL Championships, 5 Runner-Ups, 5 FA Cup titles since 1993, 1 Champions League Final, etc. Just wish our "injuries" were not so prolonged and drastic.
